Cookie Policy

Short version: overfitted.tech sets no cookies of its own, and loads no third-party analytics or advertising scripts. We checked this directly, both the site's source code and the live pages, rather than assuming it, so we could say so honestly here instead of padding this page with boilerplate.

What we found

• No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Meta Pixel, PostHog, Hotjar, or any other analytics/tracking script anywhere in the site.
• No advertising scripts or pixels.
• Fonts are bundled with the site itself (not loaded from Google Fonts or any other external font CDN), so no font-related tracking request is made either.
• The only inline scripts on the site handle UI behavior: smooth scrolling and a keyboard command palette. Neither reads nor sends any visitor data anywhere.

Local storage (not a cookie)

One page (the engineering Stack page) uses your browser's sessionStorage to remember, for your current browser tab only, that you've entered the page's access code. This is not a cookie, isn't sent to any server, isn't used for tracking, and clears itself when you close the tab.

Subscribe and buy buttons

The "Subscribe," "Buy on Gumroad," and "Buy on Dodo" buttons on this site are plain links that open Substack, Gumroad, or Dodo in a new tab; they are not embedded widgets running inside this page. Once you're on their site, whatever cookies or trackers they use are set by them, under their own policies, not by overfitted.tech:

Why there's no consent banner

Cookie consent banners exist to get permission before setting non-essential cookies. Since this site sets none, and loads no third-party tracking into its own pages, there's nothing here that legally requires a consent banner today. If that changes, if we ever add analytics or an embedded widget that sets its own cookies, we'll update this page and add a consent mechanism at that point.
